Northern Credit Union to Host FAFSA Assistance Days


Northern Credit Union and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County (CCE) are offering FREE FAFSA assistance. Do you have a child heading to college next year? Have you completed the FAFSA? The FAFSA process can make adults and students feel overwhelmed but don’t stress because there is help available!

Cornell Cooperative Extension’s College Financial Readiness Counselor will be available on a walk-in basis in our branches to:

  • Complete a FAFSA application
  • Answer questions about the FAFSA process
  • Provide tips on saving for college
  • Offer resources on scholarships

  • What you will need to complete the FAFSA?

  • Name, Address and Telephone Number
  • Social Security Number and Date of Birth
  • Driver’s License
  • Email Address
  • Parent and Student’s 2016 Federal Tax Return or Earnings and W-2
  • Parent and Student’s Non-Taxed Income List of Assets
  • Colleges You Want to Receive FAFSA

  •  We will be offering this free service on the following dates and times at a first come first serve basis.

    Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 10 to 2 p.m. at our Commerce Branch
    Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 10 to 2 p.m. at our Lowville Branch
    Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 10 to 2 p.m. at our Factory Branch
    Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 10 to 2 p.m. at our LeRay Branch

    You must establish an FSA ID in order to complete the FAFSA. This must be done at least 3 days prior to your appointment. You will not be able to complete the FAFSA without a FSA ID. You can request a FSA ID here.
