Important Updates About Your Relationship Centers.

As the holidays approach, we hope this finds you and your family healthy and coping as well as can be expected during these uncertain times. Due to the recent rise of COVID-19 cases in our communities, Northern is decreasing maximum capacity limits for its relationship centers effective, Monday, November 23. We’re taking these precautions to protect our member-owners, internal-owners, and community as a whole.

Reduced capacity limits for all relationship centers.

For the health and well-being of our member-owners and internal-owner team members, the following is the maximum number of people (members and internal-owners) permitted inside each relationship center at one time:

Adams: 5
Carthage: 4
Commerce: 7
Croghan: 4
Factory: 7
Gouverneur: 5
LeRay: 6
Lowville: 6
Massena: 3

If the relationship center is at capacity, we’ll reserve your spot in line, invite you to wait in your vehicle, and come get you when you can enter the relationship center. Appointments aren’t required but are still encouraged due to new capacity limits. To help maintain social distancing, select services, including account openings and loan applications, will be completed via Smart Office.

We encourage you to use digital services and Video Banking, to do nearly all of your banking from home including, new accounts and loans, document signing, account maintenance and more.

Lenders and other team members are available by calling or texting 315.782.0155, Live Chat, or Video Banking to assist with loans, new account opening, mortgages, and other needs during the following hours:

  • Monday-Thursday: 8:30am-5pm
  • ​Friday: 8:30am-5:30pm
  • Saturday: 9am-12pm

Our relationship center hours are as follows:


  • Lobby: Monday, Wednesday & Friday, 9am-5pm
  • Please note: As of Monday, November 23, the Massena Relationship Center will now be open on Wednesdays


  • Lobby: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
  • Please note: the lobby will be closed Tuesday, November 24 due to a planned power outage
  • Drive-thru Personal Teller: Monday-Thursday, 8:30am-5pm, Friday 8:30-5:30pm  and Saturday, 9am-12pm

Adams, Commerce and Croghan

  • Lobby: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm and Saturday, 9am-12pm
  • Drive-thru Personal Teller: Monday-Thursday, 8:30am-5pm, Friday 8:30am-5:30pm and Saturday 9am-12pm

Factory, Gouverneur, Lowville and LeRay

  • Lobby: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
  • Drive-thru Personal Teller: Monday-Thursday, 8:30am-5pm, Friday 8:30-5:30pm  and Saturday, 9am-12pm

Masks are required when entering any relationship center in accordance with NYS law. If you don’t have a mask, a team member will give one to you to use and keep.
– If you’re uncomfortable wearing a mask, we ask that you use a Personal Teller, Video Banking, or other Bank@Home options to complete your transaction. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation to protect and respect.

Hand sanitizer:
– Hand sanitizer will be available at the entrance of each relationship center and next to all lobby Personal Tellers and ATMs for your use before and after each transaction.

Social distancing:
– To help maintain appropriate social distancing, we ask that you use the social distancing decals on the floor when waiting in line.

– Wellness is our priority! Before coming to work, team members are required to  report if they or a member of their household isn’t feeling well to discuss whether they should seek advice from a healthcare provider.

– Our cleaning company will disinfect surfaces in each relationship center nightly.
– Team members will wipe down shared surfaces like tablets, keypads, touch screens, desks, and doorknobs frequently throughout the day.
– Inside Personal Tellers and ATMs will be wiped down after each use.
– At this time, refreshment stations at each relationship center will remain closed.
