What is the American Consumer Council?

The American Consumer Council (ACC) is a non-profit consumer education organization established in 1987 to advocate for consumer rights and provide financial education. Today, American Consumer Council has nearly 450,000 members across the nation, and 54 state and local consumer council affiliates. The mission of the American Consumer Council is to educate consumers on the purchase and use of safe, reliable products and services. ACC partners with non-profit credit unions across the nation to provide members with educational programs to help consumers make reliable choices.

How to enroll: 

  • Complete a brief ACC enrollment using Northern’s unique link here, and select Northern as your affiliated credit union.
  • Once you’ve enrolled, you’ll receive confirmation from ACC and can begin accessing your member education, newsletters, and additional consumer resources.
