Text Message Fraud Alerts

At Northern Credit Union, we’re committed to keeping your accounts secure and making your financial life easier to manage through innovative technology.  Now, with the convenience of text messaging, we can alert you of potential fraud more quickly. On May 16th, all debit card holders will receive a text message asking them to confirm enrollment in this service.

If you do not want to receive the enrollment text, or don’t have a cell phone listed on your account, please click here to update your contact information and choose to opt in or out. Keeping your information updated allows us to quickly notify you of suspicious account activity.

With our new debit card monitoring service every transaction will be reviewed in real time. The monitoring service will help keep your accounts secure by:

  • Learning your spending behavior and habits
  • Watching for red flags 24/7 and denying transactions deemed too risky
  • Sending an email and text alert when a suspicious charge is made

You can easily reply “Yes” or “No” via text letting us know if you attempted the purchase or if it was fraudulent.  If we don’t hear from you we’ll follow up by phone and mail.
